The Rye Brook / Greenwich Podiatrist is now using Cutera GenesisPlus™ - a patented laser device that is specifically designed to kill toe nail fungus. This high-tech laser is the most powerful laser for toe nail fungus on the market.
Laser therapy is the most modern
treatment available to combat fungus in toenails.
The Board Certified Podiatrist, David Rosenzweig, DPM,
PC is happy to announce that he is using the
Cutera Genesis Plus laser! This modern technology is
changing the way podiatrists treat toenail fungus.
The Cutera GenesisPlus toenail fungus treatment involves
passing the laser beam over the infected nails and
surrounding skin. The foot doctor will repeat this
several times until enough energy has reached the nail
bed. Your nail will feel warm during the treatment.
Depending on how many toes are involved, a single
treatment session at the foot doctor's Rye Brook or
Westchester office will take approx 15-30 minutes.
The consultation at either the foot doctors Rye Brook or
Westchester office requires an initial visit to the
office in order to examine the patient and determine
whether or not they are a good candidate for the
procedure. Once the patient has been approved for the
treatment by the foot doctor an appointment will be made
for laser therapy as soon as is possible. It is also
possible to get the Cutera GenisPlus toenail fungus
treatment the same day. The treatment itself only lasts
15-30 minutes, and you are free to leave as soon as the
procedure is completed. There will not be an immediate
visual reduction in fungus in the nail. Laser therapy
does indeed slow the growth of fungus, and kills it as
well, but you need to wait for the toenail to grow out
for visual confirmation the procedure has worked often
taking 12-18 months.
Before the laser toenail fungus treatment there is not
much that needs to be done before you come in for your
treatment, there are two things to keep in mind to
maximize the potential of the procedure.
The first and most important is to
wear NO toenail polish on your nails seven days before
and up to your appointment. Secondly, wear clean
socks each day for that week beforehand, and of course
do your best to continually rotate fresh socks into your
wardrobe.
The Cutera GenesisPlus nail fungus treatment works by
applying a directed focused infared laser light
source on to infected toenails. The
laser nail fungus treatment targets the fungal infection
in the toenail and area below the nail. In
most cases, the laser nail fungus treatment gets rid of
the fungal infection and most patients report little or
no discomfort during or after the procedure. The laser
nail fungus treatment has no age or health restrictions
with the exception of women who may be pregnant.
